1.3. Great smells

A buyers inspection may only last a few minutes, and their full range of senses will be active during that time.

You will notice odours when you first enter a house, but unless they are overwhelming, by the time you leave (within an hour) you will probably not be aware of them.

The standard advice given to anyone presenting a home is to add good smells – fresh coffee brewing, homemade bread baking, fragrant candles burning etc.

Dealing with bad odour is essential and camouflage is not enough – you need to remove the source of the bad odour before adding good ones.

A clean and well-aired home is the best fragrance.
